SEAT Ibiza — mysterious parasitic drain
Battery flat after three days parked. Two other workshops gave up.
The challenge
A frustrating problem: customer needed to charge weekly after three days' parking. Two competing workshops had failed to find it and advised a new battery.
Our solution
Systematic per-circuit current measurement with a multimeter and clamp set. After 5+ hours of tracing we found a failing comfort ECU drawing a constant 180 mA.
The result
Module replaced, problem gone for good. Battery now holds charge correctly. Total cost to the customer: a fraction of a new battery plus failed diagnosis elsewhere.
